The Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal, Moviemiento Internacional started evangelizing in Ponce, Puerto Rico near the end of the year 1916 when the first group of  Pentecostal missionaries, from Hawaii via California reached the shores of the island. The missionaries were Puerto Rican  and along with other countrymen, they emigrated from the archipelago looking for a promising future.Now returning with the message of the Good News. Five years later, after a difficult but fruitful work, the first Assembly was held in the city of Arecibo, in November 1921, then was drafted and enacted the first laws in the same year. In order to obtain legal protection that would facilitate its development, it was agreed on registering at the Secretary of State of Puerto Rico, which took place on February 13, 1922. These were revised for the first time in 1951 and then again in 1965.

 

Today the church is an international movement with works set in the Caribbean, Central and South America, in Mexico, in the United States, Europe, India, Africa and Australia. The extent of its growth to many countries forced the third review of its rules. This responded to a resolution passed unanimously by the Assembly in the city of Caguas in February 1981. The resolution made ​​provision for review of the administrative structure of the organization facilitating the development of each region at different positions within an indestructible unit based on the concept of equality of believers.

 

 

 

 

La Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal, Movimiento Internacional comezó su obra de evangelización en Ponce, Puerto Rico para fines del año 1916, cuando llegaron a sus playas, procedentes de Hawai, via California, los primeros misioneros pentecostales. Estos eran puertorriqueños que, junto a muchos otros paisanos, salieron al lejano Archipiélago en las emigraciones del comienzo de este siglo, buscando mejor porvenir. Ahora regresaban con el mensaje de las Buenas Nuevas. Cinco añs más tarde, después de una ardua, pero fructífera labor, se celebró la primera Asamblea en la ciudad de Arecibo, en noviembre de 1921, luego se redactó y promulgó los primeros estatutos en el mismo año. A fin de conseguir protección legal, que facilitase su desarrollo, se acordó su registro en la Secretaría de Estado de Puerto Rico, la que tuvo lugar el día 13 de febrero de 1922. Estos fueron revisados por primera vez en el 1951 y por segunda vez en el año 1965.

 

Hoy la iglesia es un movimiento internacional con obras establecidas en los países del Caribe, en Centro y Sur América, en Méjico, en Estados Unidos, en Europa, India, Africa y en Australia. La extension de su crecimiento por tantos países obligó la tercera revision de su reglamento. Esta respondió a una resolución aprobada por unanimidad en la Asamblea celebrada en la ciudad de Caguas en febrero de 1981. La resolució hacía provisión para que se revisara la estructura administrativa de la Organización facilitando el desarrollo de cada región en diferentes posiciones dentro de un marco de unidad indestructible basado en el concepto de la igualdad de los creyentes.
